Trans4m Rail is constructing Phase 1 of Inland Rail’s Narrabri to North Star section in NSW. This section is one of 13 projects that complete Inland Rail and is an upgrade of 186km of existing track and construction of 2.3km of new rail.
Due to design complexities associated with flood management, this section has been divided into two phases. Trans4m Rail is constructing Phase 1 only.
Works will include upgrading 171km of track between Narrabri and North Star, excluding works over the Mehi-Gwydir floodplain and those accommodating 30 Tonne Axle Load (TAL) structural loading and flood mitigation for surrounding communities.
The Australian Government is delivering Inland Rail through the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC), in partnership with the private sector. The contract to deliver Phase 1 of the Narrabri to North Star section was awarded to Trans4m Rail in October 2020. Trans4m Rail combines the experience of John Holland and SEE Civil.
John Holland is one of Australia’s leading rail contractors, with a proven record of delivering rail infrastructure projects throughout Australia and internationally. The company has recently completed the Sydney Metro Northwest and is the current maintainer of NSW’s Country Regional Network.
